Hello, I currently manage and oversee 100+ sites, handling all their work. I am experiencing an issue with the company xxx, which I use for my personal sites, and it has started to wear me out excessively. Please, those who are knowledgeable about server management, friends working in hosting companies, or people who have knowledge about the subject, do not leave this unanswered.
Last week, I saw warnings in the Yandex and wmtools panels, and even if the warnings hadn’t come, I had realized through our analyses that something was going wrong. (Answers to search queries landing on unrelated topics within the site, etc.) Anyway, I reached the officials at the relevant company; the warning in wmtools etc. was that bots could not access the site. Now, the official from this company says that because the bots have new IPs etc., they were blocked, but I do not believe it. I have reseller accounts at 4 different hosting companies—these are leading firms—and while there is no such problem in any of them, the fact that this problem occurs with this xxx company and consequently places an obstacle in front of a site that is still developing is upsetting me.
The relevant person describes the problem as follows: there are a certain number of requests within a certain time, and if there are more than this, it is perceived as an attack and the IPs get blocked. These Google bot IPs also get caught in this block occasionally. Is there no definitive solution to this bot blocking issue? The warnings have been present in the robots.txt file and wmtools for over a week.
I would appreciate it if you share your recommendations and ideas.
Let me write about one: Netinternet. A lot of my friends from Google WM Tools, Metrica, and Facebook say the site is down. I go and open a ticket, and they say it’s not down on their end.
Unfortunately, my network hasn’t expanded enough to buy a server, so I won’t be able to recommend a company. I am also starting to get sick of these big companies playing these kinds of games. I’ll keep going until I find the most suitable company. I already have reseller or hosting accounts with three or five companies anyway. It looks like I will need to buy a server soon.
There are dealerships in 4 different places and there is no problem with them. Frankly, encountering such amateur mistakes on a developing website has frustrated me. We will change the company soon, there is nothing else to be done.
The cleanest option is not to work with any Turkish company; none of them have reached competence in the domain & hosting business yet. If you are using a Reseller, for 100+ sites, I believe it would be healthier to at least get a VPS and provide the oversight yourself.
I think that company’s security measures are very strict.
I have my VDS server with İHS Telekom. If you have a problem, they won’t leave your side until it’s resolved.
Their services are very high quality and very affordable in terms of price.
I definitely recommend them.
@trooper@Kerem 100+ sites are all hosted on 4 different servers across different providers, and my personal sites are with a different company. Kerem, my friend, the conclusion I’ve reached is that there is an issue in this company’s mod_Security rule chains, and they are completely unaware of the settings of the software they paid a lot of money for. They offered to disable the firewall, but that would leave no defense against the attacks being carried out. There is no drop in traffic, so I will continue with them for a while longer despite the robots.txt error in WMTools, and afterwards we will move to a different company.
