About Jetpack Plugin

Guys, I installed the Jetpack plugin on the first day for my two-day-old website. For two days, thanks to Jetpack, I’ve been getting a lot of hits from WordPress.com. I couldn’t figure out the reason for these incoming hits. Does anyone have any idea how much of this is actually healthy traffic?

I don’t think Jetpack will cause any harm. But the traffic shouldn’t be too much, it should be around 3-5 per day, at least that’s how it is for me. What do you mean by “too much”?

Like 24 on the first day and 47 on the second. My other sites also get heavy traffic, and on some of them I don’t see this many hits in total. Yesterday, the final total views were around 150 or so. I couldn’t figure it out

Don’t you have Analytics or Metrica on your site to see your traffic?

I have Analytics, there is no problem with the hits, the only thing I’m wondering about is having such a sudden increase in hits. Because the site is two days old. Most of the hits come from wordpress.com.

You may have added content for a highly searched keyword on wordpress.com. Something similar happened to me on tumblr recently; even though I shared the content normally, I was getting 200-300 visitors a day. There won’t be any issues with Google; on the contrary, the backlink you received has been extremely useful.

I investigated a bit; on other sites, after installing Jetpack, I was creating a site named sitename.wordpress.com while logging in. In the Wordpress.com settings, this time I directly pointed to the original site as the main site. Now things are falling into place. With the impact of keywords and backlinks, wordpress.com users have started visiting more.
