I need suggestions for my movie site

Hello friends,

I have made general blogs and affiliate sites before, but I opened a movie site for the first time. I am a novice in the movie business. I got carried away by the “30k movie site in 1 month” topic and opened one. Let me summarize my site’s status for the past month, and then I’d like to get recommendations from experienced friends if possible.

112 movies were added in 1 month. An average of 4-5 per day. Descriptions for all movies are completely unique and 200+ words, with the majority being 300+ words. The posts contain 1 or 2 tags. All movies were published on the site’s Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Pinterest pages with different unique descriptions. Images on the site and social media were made unique. Some movies were bookmarked on sites like Reddit, Gityat, Friendfeed, etc. I didn’t do much bookmarking; at most 10 movies were bookmarked. One PDF was uploaded to the root directory, added to two PDF sites, and linked in the description. Currently, traffic is around 50-80 as you can see in the image below. You will see a 2-3 day spike in the analytics image. That spike happened when Yandex first indexed the site and ranked it in the first position for head keywords like “watch movie,” “watch hd movie,” etc. Because of this, there was a spike for 2-3 days. Then it returned to normal. Despite putting in this much effort for a month, the indexing time still hasn’t dropped to minutes. Traffic isn’t at all what I expected. I’m not even sure if the situation is normal or not.

Can experienced friends point out what they see as lacking in what I’ve done so far? Also, what do you recommend I do in the coming days? I am thinking of starting to get promo posts now. I am considering 2 or at most 3 promo posts in the upcoming month.

What do you guys think… Thanks in advance to those who will share their comments.

Are there any techniques you haven’t mentioned regarding what you did, or is this all? I will base my response on that, so if there is anything missing, please complete it one last time. Afterwards, I will write a few things, because this question will come to the mind of anyone who is going to help: ‘Is this everything they did, or are there things they haven’t mentioned?’

Yes, this is everything I did, I specifically wrote down every detail so nothing would be missed..

Video backlink, comment backlink. Learn the best use of these two backlink types and apply them continuously. Wasn’t Samet also talking about video backlinks in that post of his? I didn’t understand why you haven’t done the most important one

Don’t add a non-existent movie as if it exists

The algorithm changed twice after that post. I decided to go with the safest methods so I wouldn’t run into any issues  If the YouTube and Vimeo tactic is still risk-free, I’ll do it, no problem :

I’m adding some movies in advance that will bring in good traffic when they are released, you have to think ahead too

So, if you ask me, what you are doing is ineffective despite being time-consuming. Even though everyone says it should be shared on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, or whatever… my opinion is that a social media account with no engagement is just a waste of time, and moreover, after a while, it might be perceived as spam. Well, does it have no effect at all? It does, but obviously, if you want 50-100 hits, it’s the right method  What I am saying is that everyone is already doing these things anyway.

While trying to think about the future, you end up losing your current visitors like this.

You are right, I am adding these movies to the trailers category. I check every day to see if they have been released. I update the released ones, move them to the normal category, and share them on social media.

What would you suggest, sir?

I am saying it again, I surpassed a 130k site and also a 40k site, there is no problem; you just post the movie that isn’t out yet and keep going. Let the article get indexed, let the post age, and start bookmarking. If the movie comes out in 3 months, no problem, post the trailer and share it. There are no issues; the people making these comments are thinking with straightforward logic and they are right, but it would be better if they said, “I did this and it turned out bad, here is my site.”

Furthermore, I do not think updates will affect video backlinks, as long as they are not overdone.

In response to what another friend wrote: go ahead and do what everyone else is doing for a month, and after that, start doing quality work to stand out. Keep doing what you are doing, but know this: when you take the average in the movie industry (from the best to the absolute worst), the things you call “what I do” are far below average

Thank you for your interest, and thanks to the other friends who left comments as well.

Based on the comments made so far, the video backlink aspect is completely missing, and adding a trailer before the movie is released is problematic. I won’t add trailers. From now on, I will sort out the video backlink issue when adding new movies, and I will also create video backlinks for old movies.

Other than these, does anyone have any comments on things I am doing too little or too much of?

Also, what do you think about finally buying a sponsored article from a movie site this month? The site has completed its first month and now has 120 pieces of fully original content.

I believe in aging content by adding trailers before the movie is released, regardless of what others say. When that content ages, it becomes easier to get links to that page during the aging process, and naturally, you don’t drop from the first rank when the movie comes out. Look at “watch hobbit 3”, for example; hdfilmgecesi is at the top, and birhdfilm.com is right below it. Both were my clients. Are there better sites than those? Yes, but with the right tactics, you can stay at the top without the fear of getting hit by algorithm updates.

Video backlinks, comment backlinks, forum promotions. Learn the best and most efficient ways to use them, and identify one or two good, highly anticipated movies coming out within the next month to focus your efforts on. Those will be your highest-ranking movies. Half a year ago, it was Transformers for birhdfilm, and The Hobbit, Unutursam Fısılda, and a couple of other small movies for hdfilmgecesi.

@Süha Mete, does forum promotion mean opening a standard thread and posting its trailer? Also, what do you mean by comment backlink? Could you explain a bit, where will the comments be made?

It’s about putting up a standard promotional text and sharing it on forums. As for the links obtained from the comment sections of blogs, you would understand if you did a tiny bit of research or checked out a few webmaster blogs

Thank you very much for your interest. I have started doing what you said. I made 3 YouTube and Vimeo backlinks, and today I am slowly starting to work on forum and blog backlinks. I will increase the numbers over time.
