Help with a general search-based site

Greetings,
I have a website that could attract visitors searching for encyclopedia-style topics. I have set up the entire infrastructure. I entered a small amount of original content; however, with university and corporate projects, I think I won’t find the opportunity to look after it. The site has been live for about a week. Around 20 original articles have been entered. Without doing any work, it currently has 4-5 daily hits.

I have a site with approximately 12,000 partially original (added via OCR) contents, and the content has not been used elsewhere. If I were to pull content from this site and allocate the time I would spend on articles to SEO work, how far could I take it? The mentioned site was launched and left as is; I don’t think any work was done on it. It has 165k indexes in Google. PageRank 3.

I have a debt of over 20,000 lira that needs to be paid by the end of the summer. If I don’t increase my current income, it won’t be enough to cover the debt. I don’t want to risk my time with this project, but I think I can manage it by sacrificing sleep, rest time, etc.

In your opinion, should I spend my time pulling content from the site mentioned above and focusing on advertising work, or should I follow a different path? I am waiting for alternative paths you can suggest with your ideas. I would appreciate it if you could help..

If you find a student who can enter original articles, I estimate they would enter 40 articles for 300 lira a month. It’s a slow method, but it would be more solid.
Or do as you mentioned in your post, advertise it; the site’s design, motto, etc. should be good so it hooks the visitor. It shouldn’t look like a junk site.

I’d definitely suggest going unique. I get 300 uniques with 15 pieces of content on a biography site of mine. Some days this goes up to 1k. So I think no matter the industry; standing out and being unique is important. Post less content if you have to, but at least let it look like something decent :smiley:

Currently, there are 28 visitors and 61 page views. I haven’t done anything yet, just 10 original articles like this. I guess continuing with original content will be the best. Thanks for the comments; if that doesn’t work, I’ll try spam with another domain too. Say hi to Rıfkı :smiley:
