Don't be prejudiced

Hello everyone,

I saw the forum r10 in early November and signed up because it is a clean, nice forum. I used my first post to announce the SEO book giveaway event we held on our site in recent weeks. There were two reasons for this; the first, of course, was to reach more people with our event—I don’t deny it—and the second was that we are part of a new formation here, so for that reason and because the gifts were SEO books, I wanted to contribute to the activity of the forum by announcing it here as well. (If I remember correctly, the message contained two links to the site, one from a word and one saying ‘from here’.)

However, much to my surprise, my message was viewed as spam without any option and I was removed. I am very curious about the reason for being seen as spam. I have no idea whether it is because it was my first message or because I shared a link with my first message. Before getting a spam infraction like this, I used to think of forums as places where everyone who becomes a member either creates their own content or brings content from outside within certain rules. After this incident, I started to think that this forum operates with a ban-happy mentality and wants a forum where only content created by the members themselves is included…

Friends, in a place called a forum, members share from themselves or quote within an ethical framework, doing this and that. As the management, if you view the message of a person who wants to distribute gifts in a forum with a Freebies and Discounts section as spam, even if it is their own site, you take one step forward and two steps back. After that, when you send an email to your friends and acquaintances saying “announce it, let’s get members,” sorry but you are the ones who swallow the spam.

To summarize, do not be prejudiced and alienate people who want to put effort into this place. Obviously you have set out on a path, but treat your entrepreneurial users as customers and say the customer is always right. If a move needs to be made, warn first and then take your step. For example, if you say “help via email” to members and can reach them via email, suspend the content you see as wrong, then email the user and say “there are too many links in your message, remove them, otherwise we will do this according to our rules…”

In the future, I will share our site’s promotion and events. Let’s see if we get thanks or get told to f… o…

Good luck, best of work,

Regards.
