Schema and SEO

While browsing foreign sites on the internet, I noticed something: the importance of Schema in SEO. Why haven’t we realized this, or is it just me? For example, let’s take a recipe site. The first image is ranked 1st for “food recipes,” and the second image is a site built in compliance with Schema rules;

This isn’t just about recipe sites; for example, it applies to movie sites or tech review sites as well. To be honest, I am currently thinking of stopping all my projects to build a recipe site fully compliant with Schema rules.

I had researched quite a bit recently, but I couldn’t reach a definitive conclusion. Many people argued that it could be effective in the coming years, like mobile compatibility.

Let’s leave SEO aside for a moment and look at the difference between the two images. When a user performs a search, let’s say a result like in the 2nd image appears in the 6th position on the first page, and a plain result appears in the 1st position. In my opinion, the user will enter the site with the image and user rating first. Personally, I do that, and thus you rise to the top ranks more easily. Am I thinking wrong?

For those images to appear, both the Schema infrastructure and being an authoritative site are required. In other words, images do not always appear in search results for every site using the Schema structure. Otherwise, I completely agree with the thoughts you wrote in the 2nd message :slight_smile:

For example, the 1st site you gave as an example in the image uses the Schema infrastructure, but no image appears. I don’t know exactly what the criteria are for this.

I don’t agree with the authoritative part. If Google looked at authority, it would have displayed the site in the 1st image like the 2nd image, and would have actually disregarded the site in the 2nd image. But while writing this, it occurred to me: I wonder if this situation isn’t currently valid for Turkey?

If it weren’t valid in Turkey, we wouldn’t see it in some search results. For example, there is a result in this search as well.

Also, when you look at the search below, rich snippets appear for many

I implemented this on a food site of mine 6 months ago, but it doesn’t appear when searching. I guess this system isn’t active in Turkey; it appears when I type site:siteadresi.com

I don’t know the image business, but I think appearing with stars is very, very effective. Imagine you did a search and there is a starred result in the 5th position (think like a normal person, not a webmaster :)), which one would you click? I would prefer the starred one, psychologically.
For this reason, I struggled a lot to have stars on my sites, but I couldn’t achieve this on 9 sites. It happened on the remaining 1 site, somehow. I did everything the same, and all the sites have roughly the same features. So I appeared with stars, but I don’t know how.

As a result, it would be great if someone who knows about this star image business writes here.
