For a movie coming out in 1 month, we have been getting promotional articles and 1 footer link at regular intervals for 2 months. I spent nearly 500 TL for the movie. While it was ranked 28th on Google, it slowly rose to 13th place. It stayed at 13th for about 10 days, but today my ranking dropped to 32nd. What could be the reason?
There is still 1 month until the movie is released. Should I continue getting promotional articles? Is there a chance to reach the top spots? Or should we just wait without touching anything? I would also appreciate your opinion on why it dropped.
I think you overloaded the keyword. I suggest you promote your site using a plain URL or words like “here”, “there”, or “this”, apply things like forum promotion like the one here, and wait without touching it. Oh, and apply this as well: make occasional additions to the text, lengthen the article, send a few comments from different IPs, and perform a fetch from WM tools.
Sir, honestly I haven’t been able to make sense of this for years; how does Google see the IP addresses of those commenting? I understand with different profile information, but do you have any idea how it detects the IP issue?
I wrote that assuming Akismet is installed. I think Akismet gives it away somehow. If I identify my pages that get traffic and plan to comment, I do it from top to bottom. I change the dates and everything else as I wish and submit them without any issues. However, if I do this on sites where Akismet is installed, it literally backfires. That’s why nowadays, when I install WP, I immediately delete Akismet.
The reality of the matter is that Google tracks hits. If 500 comments are thrown at your page that has never received traffic from Google, it is artificial; but if 10 comments are thrown at an article of yours that gets 200 unique visitors a day, I think the logic operating here is that it is considered natural no matter what.
