What is the effect of splitting text into pages?

I am preparing a website and sometimes the articles need to be quite long, especially when explaining things from scratch, with plenty of images and text. My question is, if I split this article into pages, what would be the impact in terms of usability, visitor reaction, and SEO?
For example; Get rid of your fats in 5 steps. like…

The visitor will stay on your site longer and browse more pages. If you can get your visitor to browse these 5 pages, this will be positive for you. (I am saying this for the example here -For example; get rid of your fat in 5 steps. like…-)

Thank you.

Some news websites create galleries with dozens of pages and write a single sentence on each page. Does this have a positive impact on SEO?

Yes, sometimes it is harmful, but I found a better way. I will set aside some articles and enter them separately, and I will do some of them this way. Then, based on the results I get, I guess I can decide which one is better.

Can I ask this without opening a new topic: what is the theme of SearchEngineLand or the closest theme? While browsing, it seemed like the closest theme to what I am looking for.

Paginating every post would be unnecessary. However, pagination is better for certain topics. For instance, I had prepared a post about shopping on Aliexpress. The post included general information about Aliexpress, step-by-step ordering instructions, and information on opening a dispute. I made it more readable by dividing it into pages. If I had put everything on a single page instead of splitting it into pages, the information would have gotten mixed up.
